Customs: Russia’s foreign trade surplus falls 14% in Jan–Oct
MOSCOW, Dec 5 (PRIME) -- Russia’s foreign trade surplus fell 14% on the year to U.S. $146.8 billion in January–October, the Federal Customs Service said on Thursday.
Exports decreased 5.6% on the year to $348.2 billion in the period. Fuel and energy goods accounted for 63.1% of exports with exports of these types of goods non-CIS countries accounting for 67.9%.
Imports rose 1.5% to $201.4 billion. Cars and machinery accounted for 45.9% of imports.
The E.U. remains Russia’s largest economic partner accounting for 41.9% of the external trade turnover of Russia in the period.
